Welcome Jerry Vines

IT IS MY JOY TO WELCOME Dr. Jerry Vines back to the Westside pulpit! Dr. Vines loves Jesus, loves people, and loves the Word of God. He has a products table in the Mall that I encourage you to go by to see what is there. His book, VINES: My Life and Ministry will be a blessing to you! We will receive a love offering for him during the morning service. Please give a worthy offering to support his ministry.

DR. JERRY VINES SERVED AS PASTOR at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville from 1982-2006. He served two terms as president of the Southern Baptist Convention. He holds degrees from Mercer University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and Luther Rice Seminary. I know you will hear him gladly and prayerfully today.

WE ARE GOING TO RENEW RENEW in March! Three years ago, we began a capital campaign to raise money to make some improvements to our facilities. We called it ReNew. Over the last three years we have renewed much of our property. On Sunday, March 4, we will celebrate what God has done through the faithful giving of His people over the last three years. However, there are a few items we have not been able to do over the last three years that still need to be done. On Sunday, March 11, we are going to receive a love offering for Renew ReNew. We are also going to receive eighteen (18) month pledges to help us finish the job! If everyone who has been giving to ReNew for the last three years will continue to give for eighteen (18) more months, I believe we will be able to complete the work. If you are not able to be here on March 11, we will also be receiving the offering and pledges on Sunday, March 18.

I WANT TO THANK YOU for your love and concern for my wife, Judy. As many of you know, she had breast cancer surgery on February 1. Judy and I have been overwhelmed by your prayers and many acts of kindness toward us. Since it is impossible for me to thank everyone personally, I wanted to include this little thank you in my article today. I can tell you that she is doing well and hopes to be back at Westside real soon! Until then, please continue to pray for her complete healing.
