Our Core Beliefs

THE BIBLE: We believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. We affirm both the Old and New Testaments, that though written by men, they were supernaturally inspired by the Holy Spirit, so that the scriptures are not the words of men, but the Word of God, and completely authoritative in all matters (Psalm 119:105; Romans 15:4; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16).

GOD: We believe that there is one God who reveals Himself in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; 1:26-27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 40:28-29; John 14:7-16; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2).

JESUS CHRIST: We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son. We affirm His virgin birth, victorious life, vicarious death, victorious resurrection, and anticipate His visible return. We believe that Jesus is the only way of salvation and that all who are willing to turn from their sin and place their faith in Jesus Christ alone will be saved (Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14-15).

THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He is the divine helper, assistant, counselor, and instructor. His work is to reveal Christ and lead sinners to repentance. His work is to convict, guide, comfort, strengthen, and sanctify believers (John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13; 5:25).

MAN’S SIN: We believe that human beings are God’s special creation who fell through the sin of the first man, Adam. All human beings are sinners in need of God’s forgiveness (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23).

GOD’S SAVIOR: We believe that forgiveness is available to all through Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ died on a cross for our sin and those who repent of their sin and place their faith in Jesus will be saved. Every person who is truly saved is eternally secure and will spend eternity in heaven, while those who refuse Jesus will spend eternity in hell (John 14:6; Romans 5:1; 6:23; Galatians 3:26; Titus 3:5).

BAPTISM: We believe that baptism is by immersion after salvation. It is done in obedience to the command of Jesus Christ and is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 3:15-17; Acts 2:38).

THE CHURCH: We believe that the church is a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ. The purpose of the church is to worship the Lord Jesus, learn how to walk as a child of God, and witness to others about the saving power of Jesus Christ.
