VBS/VBX 2018 is History

VBS/VBX 2018 IS HISTORY. It was a great week of Bible study and fun for all who came! My thanks go out to all the workers who made VBS/VBX happen. I said last week that VBS is a big deal at Westside. If you had been here last Monday morning at 9 a.m. you would have known what I meant. There were hundreds of children and parents in The Mall and our workers handled it well. It was a great job to all!

ARE YOU READY TO CELEBRATE OUR GOD & COUNTRY? Next Sunday, July 1, is the annual event we call “God & Country Day.” Please notice that it is “God” and “Country”, in that order. We worship our God and give allegiance to our God. However, we are blessed to live in a country that gives us the freedom to worship Him. Never take your religious liberty for granted! As a matter of fact, religious liberty is under attack in our country and we need to defend it.

HOW WILL WE CELEBRATE OUR GOD & COUNTRY? First, we will gather at 7775 Herlong Road for Connection Groups at 9:30 a.m. and Morning Worship at 10:45 a.m. Second, we will gather at the Diamond D Ranch for a church-wide picnic. We have moved all the activities back an hour this year in hopes of getting away from the heat of the day. There will be games at 5 p.m., we will eat at 6 p.m., and we will worship at 7 p.m. There is lots of shade at the ranch, but it is July in Florida, so feel free to dress for the heat, but also dress modestly. There are seats at the ranch, but you may want to bring a lawn chair.

FINALLY, I WILL BE PREACHING AT HOPEWELL this Thursday, June 28, at 7 p.m. Dr. Gary Williams is the pastor at Hopewell, which is located at 1351 Roberts Road, St. Johns, Florida. You are welcome to attend.
