Stewardship Month

“IMPACT” IS HISTORY! For the last six weeks we have sought to IMPACT our community for the kingdom of God through our Connection Groups. We tried to do that by inviting people of all generations to attend one of our Connection Groups. As I write this, we have seen 1,313 different people in attendance, 83 first time guests, 46 new members, and 27 commitments to Christ. I want to thank those of you who have helped us make an IMPACT for Jesus over the last six weeks!

WE WILL CELEBRATE “IMPACT” at the Pastor’s Rally for Connection Group workers this afternoon at 4:45 p.m. in the Family Life Center. I want to encourage all workers to attend. We will celebrate the past and anticipate the future. Please don’t miss it!

OUR ANNUAL STEWARDSHIP EMPHASIS began last Sunday. “Transparency” is our theme and 1 Kings 18:21 is our text. If Jesus is your Savior, you should follow Him in all manners, and that includes your giving. The Bible tells us to give at least a tithe (10%) of our income to help support the Lord’s work. Therefore, we will observe Tithing Commitment Day on October 28 and Prove the Tithe Day on November 4. I’m just trying to be transparent!

OUR STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE has been working on the 2019 Proposed Budget. They will be presenting it to you on Sunday, November 4. There will be a time for discussing the budget on November 7, and we will vote on the budget, without discussion, on Sunday, November 11.

NEXT SUNDAY EVENING we are hosting a concert by the Gaither Vocal Band. The concert will be in our Worship Center at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5 p.m. This is a ticketed event! Tickets may be purchased at The Well, online, or at the door (assuming there are some still available), and they are required for admittance. Many of us have enjoyed the music of Bill Gaither for many years. To be able to have him at Westside is going to be a real blessing. I hope to see you here!
