Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! If you are a child, you thought Christmas would never get here. If you are a Senior Adult, you are wondering how it got here so fast! Regardless of your outlook, Christmas will be here in two days. As we prepare to close out 2018 and open up 2019, let me share a few quick things that I think are very important.

WE WILL CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS EVE tomorrow evening with a time of fellowship and worship. The Reception will begin at 5 p.m. in the Mall. There will be light refreshments. The Worship will begin at 6 p.m. in the Worship Center. There are usually 500-600 people who attend this service. I hope you and your family will come. The service usually lasts about 45 minutes. There is no childcare, but children are welcome to come, and crying babies are no problem! I hope you will make this service a part of your Christmas tradition.

WE WILL BEGIN THE NEW YEAR with a celebration of the 60th Anniversary of our church. (Today is the actual anniversary date, as our church first met on the fourth Sunday in December in 1958. On that day, sixty-one [61] people met for Sunday School.) Since many people are out of town at this time of year, we are going to celebrate on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Our special guests will be former staff members Harold Hudson and Jim Law. On Sunday morning we will celebrate 60 years of preaching the Word and on Sunday night we will celebrate 60 years of singing the Gospel. We will close the day with an all-church fellowship in the Family Life Center. I hope you will plan to be here!

WE WILL CHANGE OUR SCHEDULE for the next two weeks, in an attempt to give you more time to spend with your family and friends. There will be no Sunday evening services today or next Sunday, December 30. Also, there will be no Wednesday night services on December 26 or January 2. So, let me close this article with also wishing you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
