Connection Group Emphasis

OUR CONNECTION GROUPS EMPHASIS called “Impact” is almost over. What began on September 9, will end on October 14. Our goal has been to IMPACT our community for the Kingdom of God through our Connection Groups. We have emphasized every age group of our Connection Groups, from Preschool to Senior Adults. Next Sunday, October 14, we want to emphasize every age group at the same time! Here’s what we need to do:

WE NEED TO PRAY. I always begin with that because this is a spiritual endeavor. When we pray, we invite the Lord to join us in the work. Nothing we do on our own will last. We need God to move in our lives and in the lives of others. So, above all else, pray. But don’t stop there!

WE NEED TO INVITE. If you want people to attend your Connection Group, you must invite them. The good news is that 82% of unchurched people said they were somewhat likely to attend church if someone invited them. That puts the ball in our court! The bad news is that most churchgoing people never invite anyone to attend their church. How long has it been since you invited someone to attend your church? The best way to invite someone is still face to face. Face to face is better than a phone call, a text message, a social media post, or an email. If you will invite enough people, someone will come!

WE NEED TO ATTEND. If we are going to pray and invite, we need to be here, too! Next Sunday is not the day to be at Disney, in a tree stand, in the mountains, on the golf course, at the beach, or just staying home. This will be the day for all of God’s people, all the Westside members, to rise and shine and be in a Connection Group!

OUR 2018 STEWARDSHIP EMPHASIS begins today and will continue through the month of October. This year’s emphasis is called “Transparency” and the key verse is 1 Kings 18:21, “And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.”
